Measuring Research, Making a Difference
Researchers and their managers in today’s competitive environment need to be able to demonstrate the impact of their research. Research managers in turn are concerned about tracking and valuing an increasingly diverse range of research outputs. Many researchers are concerned that non-traditional research outputs, even where they maximise the potential for their research to be used, are not regarded as important for career progression. By placing tools in the hands of researchers that enable them to track and manage the use and impact of their own research outputs the project will provide an opportunity to re-engage researchers with the impact agenda and provide a common ground for them to demonstrate and validate the impact of their work with their institutional research managers.
